'What does it mean to you?
We are here in the most intense time of most of our lives on this planet. How are we handling it? It's hard to slow down, when we've kept ourselves so busy for so long. It's easy to catch the panic, to feel the fear, and to let it "take the wheel and steer". Culminating. Went to the store today to get goods that I felt I "needed to have" as we go on lockdown as of 8:00pm this evening. I wore gloves. As I shopped the store touched avocados, peanuts, boxes, the handle on my basket, put the basket on my arm, by the time I checked out with one of my favorite cashiers I was feeling pretty stupid. I said "I don't know why I'm wearing gloves". After a moment he said "Do you know what a lemming is?" I wasn't sure, so he proceeded to describe a lemming's appearance and then explained the behavior of a lemming. They have one leader of the pack, they all follow this one lemming. If the leader runs off a cliff the whole pack does. "I'm not a lemming" my favorite cashier said. Right on. We've lived through times like these before, we are human, yet somehow we've come very far from where we were just a few hundred years ago. The unnatural state of our lives has permeated every level of our existence. Where will we let this natural borne virus take us to? Will we embrace the positive effects and move it forward for the benefit of our future? On this turning pointing in history, how will we behave? "Today we begin anew"...what does it mean to you?
